Dual Language
What does a Dual Language school offer?
Dual Language

Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs use two languages for literacy and content instruction. The programs provide the same academic content and address the same state standards as traditional educational programs where instruction is in only one language. Elementary DLI programs provide instruction in the two languages over an extended period, from kindergarten through fifth grade. Instruction is in the DLI program “target language” (a language other than English) at least 50% of the time. All DPS DLI programs use Spanish as the target language.

Holt is unique because it feels like home! Administration believes in me and is very persistent with growth opportunities along with autonomy! The families and students want to be here and provide the support needed to balance the classrooms. Our team is incredible; we Learn and Grow together!

Holt is like a mini United Nations! I have met people from all over the world and students that have such a diverse set of experiences. I learn as much from my students as they learn from me!

I love that Holt has international teachers from various countries and they can intentionally share about global cultural customs and activities.

Holt has been a place where my daughter has grown academically, socially, and emotionally. She especially loves learning Spanish and Mandarin. Just the other day at the grocery store, she started a conversation with someone in Spanish and was proud of herself. She would not have had the confidence to do that a year ago.

They protect, love, and support the children, providing extra help for those who need it. They teach children and expose them to different cultures and aspects of life.
